Isaiah 28:18-20

New American Standard Bible

¹⁸ Your ^(A)covenant with death will be ^[a](B)canceled,
And your pact with Sheol will not stand;
When the ^(C)[b]gushing flood passes through,
Then you will become its ^(D)trampling ground.
¹⁹ As ^(E)often as it passes through, it will ^[c]seize you;
For ^(F)morning after morning it will pass through, anytime during the day or night,
And it will be ^[d]sheer ^(G)terror to understand ^[e]what it means.”
²⁰ The bed is too short on which to stretch out,
And the ^(H)blanket is too ^[f]small to wrap oneself in.
